Alan Alda wrote that – and that’s what inspired the name for this website. Here you will find the things that I’m greedy about – books, writing, travel, my garden, cooking and collecting recipes. All are hard on occasion, all take effort and time and work, and all bring the most delicious satisfaction! I hope you are greedy too, and will enjoy stepping with me through the delights of my world.

Why the Greedy Granny?
Well, I’m a Granny, and I’m Greedy!

​The Cook Section
I like food, a lot – cooking it, eating it, dressing it up, feeding other people. I’m gluten intolerant, but I still bake normal cakes for my family, and GF ones just for me! You’ll find lots of recipes in the Food section of this website.
​
​The Write Section
​I love to write. My mother said I was born with a pen in my hand! Many, many years later I’m still writing, and encouraging other people to write. I lead a “Let’s Write” group locally, and you’ll find dozens of themes to inspire your personal or group writing in the Write section.
​
And there’s news of my own writing ventures – I’d love to hear about yours too.

The Read Section
I also read, all the time – I used to devour books as a child, and my appetite hasn’t lessened over the years. The Read section includes some of the books I’ve read over the years (mainly at my lovely book club), with resumes and comments to help you choose what to read next.
And there’s a section for Plays – choices for play-reading groups.
​The Garden Section
I have an awkward and unforgiving garden – with amazing views (for a suburban semi). See my attempts and my failures.

The Travel Section
​Travel has become a new delight in my later years – holidaying now, and seeing places with my own interests and through the lens of my youngest grand-daughter – a new take on the travel experience.
